An excavator mounted pile driver is a multi-functional construction attachment installed on an excavator. It is driven by a hydraulic system to achieve efficient pile driving operations. Structure and Principles
The core components include the hydraulic hammer, pile driver, guide frame and connection mechanism. The hydraulic system draws power from the excavator and drives the hydraulic hammer to generate high-frequency impact force. The energy is then transferred to the pile body through the pile driver.
The guide frame ensures that the pile is inserted vertically into the soil, while the connection mechanism is responsible for securely fixing it to the excavator's boom. Modern pile drivers often employ intelligent control systems that can adjust the striking frequency and energy in real time to accommodate different geological conditions and pile types. This design not only ensures construction quality but also enhances operational efficiency.
Main features
The impact energy can be adjusted within the range of 10-50 kJ, and the impact frequency can reach 40-60 times per minute, which is much higher than that of traditional diesel hammers. The efficient hydraulic system enables an energy utilization rate of over 70%.
It has extremely strong adaptability and can handle various types of piles such as precast concrete piles, steel pipe piles, and H-shaped steel piles. The pile diameters usually range from 300 to 800 mm. The modular design enables it to be quickly installed and used on different tonnage excavators (20-50 tons), with the conversion time not exceeding 2 hours.
Applications
It is widely used in the treatment of building foundations, especially in the support projects of small and medium-sized pits in cities. Compared with static pressure pile machines, it is more suitable for operations in sites with limited space.
In bridge construction, it is commonly used for the foundation work of abutments and piers. In port and wharf projects, it is employed for the installation of breakwater piles and mooring piles. In recent years, more and more municipal projects, such as underground pipe galleries and subway stations, have also extensively adopted this equipment.
