"Made in China" is planting the seeds of success all over the world.

Today, a Chinese news report stated that the export sales of 22,000 enterprises in Shandong Province have soared. Notably, apart from the light industrial products such as clothing and handicrafts that are commonly believed by the outside world, there are also small excavators, skid steer loaders, lawn mowers, and other heavy industrial products...
These heavy industrial products faced a price winter in China but became popular among gardening enthusiasts and farmers overseas. Specifically, a micro excavator manufacturer in Shandong achieved a sales volume of $85,000 within 10 days on Amazon; another micro excavator manufacturer's product ranked among the top in the platform's excavator category after being launched on Amazon last year; a construction machinery company in Shandong launched its products on the Amazon US site and achieved a stable monthly sales volume of several hundred thousand dollars within six months of launch.
Lawn mowers have also become popular overseas, with Dongchang Heavy Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. exporting hundreds of lawn mower units alone in the first five months of 2026, a year-on-year increase of nearly double.

Is the business of overseas "middle class" easier to do?

An interesting phenomenon is that many construction machinery exported overseas have been sold to individual consumers in the C-end market.
Take lawn mowers as an example, the "backyard economy" of overseas households has already formed a considerable demand market. Countless middle-class homeowners are enthusiastic about using the lawn mowers produced by Dongchang Heavy Machinery for DIY renovations in their backyards, such as clearing garden weeds, trees, laying golf courses, and reclaiming farmland.
Recently, overseas DIY blogger @Frengen purchased a Chinese small excavator for $2,000 from the Alibaba International Station. The "unboxing video" of this purchase received over 4 million views, causing the term "Alibaba excavator" to become popular on overseas social media.
"Observer Network" also reported that since 2025, the demand for small excavators from overseas households and small business owners has significantly increased.

For a long time, construction machinery has had a strong B-end attribute.

B-end demand includes contractors, machinery rental companies, engineering maintenance departments of enterprises... In the past two years, with changes in the overall environment, the B-end demand for excavators has significantly decreased. From 2021 to 2023, the total sales volume of excavators of major domestic manufacturing enterprises decreased year by year, reaching 342,800 units, 261,300 units, and 195,000 units respectively.
However, the C-end has enabled enterprises to find new growth curves. American family farmers, Nordic gardening bloggers, Southeast Asian individual merchants, and European small-scale construction subcontractors... The same product presents different consumption levels in different economies, which can reverse and reshape the capability boundaries of our small manufacturing enterprises.

This is not a simple shift in exports. It is a wave driven by China's supply chain, known as the "home-useization" of construction machinery - reducing the cost of tens of thousands of machines to a few thousand dollars, and turning professional tools into "affordable toys". From mini excavators on Amazon to lawn mowers popular in Europe and America, from the release of production capacity in the Shandong industrial belt to the millions of views on YouTube channels...
When the phrase "Made in China" means reliable quality, friendly prices, and global free shipping - the world will no longer be able to do without Chinese factories.
